The Sierra Veterinary Medical Association is a group of veterinarians and their family and friends who love to ski. We have two big events each year. Our main event is our annual Ski CE Meeting. The location is selected by our incoming president and changes every year. This event offers 16 hours of RACE approved CE, great skiing, and several social activities. The members have developed friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Our second event is a summer trip that is purely social in nature. Recent trips have included scuba diving in Belize, cruising the Alaska Inside Passage, mountain biking in Moab Utah, sailing in Mystic Connecticut, exploring Key West and an African Safari in Tanzania. Our upcoming trip in August 2024 will be to Bar Harbour, Maine.
- Quality speakers with RACE approved CE
- Incredible skiing
- Cherished and lifelong friendships.
The SVMA Winter Ski Meetings have been held in the United States (Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming), Canada, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. The location is selected each year by that year’s president.
Each year the SVMA brings well-known and highly regarded speakers to their winter ski CE meeting. The list of highly credentialed speakers is extensive, but such notable leaders in their field include Dr. Greg Ogilvie (Oncology), Dr. Kenny Simpson (Gastroenterology), Dr. John Bonagura (Cardiology), Dr. Sharon Spier (Equine Medicine), and Dr. Brook Niemiec (Dentistry and Oral Surgery).
